What is Microcement?

Microcement, or microtopping, is a decorative coating applied to outdoor or indoor surfaces. It adheres to new or old walls or floors to give them a long-lasting, beautiful appearance.
Microcement is made of cement, acryllic resins, mineral pigments and other additives that give it a strong adherence, even to vertical surfaces. It can be applied to tile, concrete, drywall, marble, terrazzo, plaster and many other surfaces. This coating dries to three millimetres in thickness, which allows it to cover flaws without taking up too much space.
This jointless coating is suitable for a range of indoor and outdoor applications. Microcement has improved the look and durability of many spaces, from private homes to sports centers, industrial buildings, hotels and restaurants. This product comes in various decorative finishes while protecting the underlying surface for decades.

Where can microcement be applied?

Anywhere you need a refined, durable finish is a good location for microcement. Some of the most successful applications of microcement include:

  • Stairs
  • Swimming pools
  • Furniture
  • Countertops
  • Driveways
  • Showers
  • Patios
  • Kitchen floors

The jointless nature of microcement makes it easy to clean and maintain, even on large scales like event centers or food courts. It has the perfect balance of hardness and flexibility to cover almost any surface and stay there for years.

Types Of Microcements

The five types of microcements can help you achieve the finish you need:

Base- It has an irregular texture and is often used as a first coat but can be left exposed for a rustic look.

Stone- This microcement can withstand high foot or vehicle traffic and has a stone-like appearance.

Fino- For the smoothest finishes on walls, fino provides a perfect coating.

Deck- This microcement is the best choice for floors in residential spaces.

Acquacement- This microcement resists chlorine and salt, making it perfect for pools or water features.
